Coronavirus: The same protection regulations are required in all federal states
The number of people who have contracted the novel corona virus is steadily increasing. There are now over 1,500 infected people in Germany (as of March 11, 2020). Various measures have been taken to protect the population from the virus. But the regulations are not the same in all federal states. That should change.
Against the background of the increasing number of corona infections, the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Health has issued a decree that the local authorities should generally cancel events with more than 1,000 expected visitors. There is a similar regulation in Bavaria. Now it is demanded that the regulations for the protection of the population in all federal states should be adapted.
Spread the spread of the virus significantly over time
According to a message, the health insurance company DAK-Gesundheit welcomes the decision planned by the state governments in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia to ban major events with more than 1,000 participants in both federal states.
“Following the example of Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia, all other federal states must now also apply the same regulations at short notice to protect the population from the corona virus,” demands DAK CEO Andreas Storm.
"We have to come to federal regulations in a timely manner," said the CEO of DAK-Gesundheit. "This is the crucial prerequisite for us to succeed in significantly extending the spread of the virus in Germany."
Uniform federal regulations for the cancellation of major events
"Given the exponential increase in the spread of the coronavirus, the situation could otherwise worsen significantly."
Now there is an urgent need for a nationwide regulation to cancel large events with more than 1,000 participants. Exceptions requiring approval should be provided.
"We need clarity, reliability, and commitment," said Storm. The expert referred to corresponding regulations in Switzerland and France.
Decision-makers have to coordinate nationwide
The joint crisis team of the BMI (Federal Ministry of the Interior) and BMG (Federal Ministry of Health), which was founded according to a pandemic plan to combat the corona virus, recommends the cancellation of all major public and private events with more than 1,000 expected participants.
"For all events with up to 1,000 expected participants, a risk assessment based on the criteria of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) should be carried out together with the responsible health authority," says a message.
Storm praised the current crisis management by Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU), Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer (CSU) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
“In the current crisis, it is imperative that decision-makers in the federal and state governments exchange information regularly and act nationwide. Federalism must prove its worth, especially in times of crisis! ”(Ad)
